Parking, Fog, and Tail Lights
Jan 5, 2010 – One of the first things I did when I brought the Jag home was test to see if all the lights were functional. A surprising number were not. Neither fog light was working, nor was the left side marker or front parking light. The interior lights were not working. Some were bad bulb issues and some were blown fuses. I ordered up an assortment of bulbs and fuses and have started replacing them.
The wire powering the left side marker is just hanging in the wheel well and has a raw end. It will need a new bullet connector. Likewise the door entry lamp on the drivers door.
I replaced the bulbs for the fog lights and am ready to reattach them to the front bumper and see if they work now. I’m not sure the fog light relay is functioning properly. I tried to bench test the relay and it was not switching with my test rig.
While I was at it I pulled the tail light lenses and cleaned out the inside of the assembly which was surprisingly dirty. I also polished the lenses with some plastic polish which brightened them up considerably.
